CHRISTOPH PRÉGARDIEN, tenor
Precise vocal control, clear dictin, intelligent musicality and an ability to get to the heart of everything he sings ensures Christoph Prégardien's place among the world's foremost lyric tenors. He perfoms regularly with orchestras from around the world, including the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, Staatskapelle Dresden and Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. His extensive orchestral repertoire includes the great baroque, classical and romantic oratorios, as well as seventeenth-century (Monteverdi, Purcell, Schütz) and twentieth-century works (Britten, Killmayer, Rihm, Stravinsky). Especially appreciated as a lieder singer, his engagements this season include US tour and recitals at Temple Church, Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw and the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg.

Drake enjoys an international reputation as one of the finest instrumentalists in his field, collaborating with many of the world's leading artists. He appears regularly at major music festivals and venues: Aldeburgh, Edinburgh, Munich, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Salzburg, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and BBC Proms in London. Upcoming season concerts include recitals in his series "Julius Drake and Friends" at the historic Middle Temple Hall in London, featuring Christine Rice, Iestyn Davies, Simon Keenlyside and Ian Bostridge, as well as concerts at the Barbican in London, Teatro de la Zarzuela with Danielle De Niese, Carnegie Hall andl Wigmore Hall with Alice Coote, in Florence, Vienna, Schwezingen and Wiesbaden with Gerald Finley, in Madrid and Amsterdam with Sarah Connolly and in London and the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg with Christoph Prégardien.
